Roller Coaster Physics

The Physics class studies the dynamics involved in roller coasters rides.  At the end of the year, a final is taken at Cedar Point with support from NASA.  Vector quantities will be studied such as acceleration and force.  Students should prepare for a trip to Cedar Point, Sandusky Ohio in May of 2008.
For more information check out the NASA site.  Scroll down their web page and find out why astronauts float in space.

Physics of Cell Phones

This unit  includes concepts dealing with wave functions such as light and sound.  It covers electricity as a major component. Students will learn how cell phones function but must first prepare by learning the basics of wave functions.

Look for additional information on Carolyn N Kinder's webpage.

Current News:

The Physics of Cell Phones is the first unit.  Chapters from the text dealing with electricity will be covered in the first quarter.  Students will construct electical circuits in series and in parallel and explore resistance and capacitance.
School begins September 4, 2007.  Classes will not be held on September 28 or October 1st.  Spirit week will be October 3-5.
You must come prepared to class with a TI 83 or TI84 calculator. See syllabus for additional materials needed.
